Course Identification: This course provides participants with theoretical and practical knowledge on the grading of timber to meet the needs of consumers. Participants of the course are exposed to the key principles involved in the identification of the commercial species, understanding the importance of marketing forests produce free of defects and the link between best practices in felling, sawmilling and timber handling in marketing of Guyana’s timber.
Timber Grading certification is achieved after successful completion of 2 full weeks of training.
Teaching Methods – Lectures, Field Practicals in the forests and at processing facilities.
